PB - personal best.
Didn’t finish:
Cedric Nolf (BEL), Vasili Kharlamov (RUS), Artem Lukyanenko (RUS), Kevin Mayer (FRA), Florian Geffrouais (FRA), Mathias Brugger (GER), Pelle Rietveld (NED), Igor Sarcevic (SRB)
Historical note: Kevin Mayer's European Championships ended in disaster when the 20-year-old Frenchman fouled all three long jump attempts and withdrew from the decathlon. Remarkably, just four days later, he completed another decathlon in Brussels, scoring 8415 points to qualify for the London Olympics and break William Motti's French U23 record, which had stood since 1985. Six years later, Mayer would become the world record holder with 9126 points.
