Ashton Eaton misses collegiate record, but is first to win three straight decathlon titles.

He set a meet record while winning the decathlon for the third conscutive year at the NCAA outdoor track and field championships at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Eaton totaled a personal best 8457 points. Trey Hardee scored 8465 in 2006.
