Women personal bests for Multi Events and other events (12)

Is a decathlete a real athlete? Commentators, world records, decathlon and prejudice!
Part V  Women Personal Bests for Multi events

World records are in fact personal records. Since it is fair to compare personal records with personal records here follows a list of those Pb’s for women combined events. The order of appearance of the events in decathlon for women is as you know not the same as for men (according to new IAAF rules changed for practical reasons). The events in bolt are heptathlon events. Criteria: 6500 points Decathlon; 5000 points Heptathlon; 3500 points Pentathlon.

Today’s decathlon world record holder is Austra Skujyte with a points total of 8358. The sum of her pb’s - 9006 points - makes us suspect she could have gone higher but the sport isn’t really popular at the moment, so if she will return to the decathlon is questionable. She always said she is a heptathlete in the first place. Anyhow, for decathlon events, (only legal performances compared) “multi e” athletes performed all together at 92.35 % of the world records!

Part VI Other events

People probably wonder what the personal records from participants of combined events are for the other disciplines in track and field (and that we can count as world records for multi eventers), therefore we give two more lists – one of the extra events typical for the double decathlon with the same criteria mentioned in the previous article and one for women deca-, hepta- and pentathlon events.

Hey Leonardo,
can't find the source anymore for Thomas Erikson. It was a site about combinations of throwing and it probably doesn't exist anymore, but the 64.00 is from the book "American Decathletes" from Frank Zarnowsky page 286.
