Des Moines, Iowa - Michael Morrison won the national title in the decathlon with 8118 points at NCAA Outdoor championships.

Curtis Beach ran the world's second-fastest decathlon time in the final event (1500 meters), and finished just 34 points behind Morrison. Miller Moss finished third with 7996 points.

Ten events were not completed according to IAAF rules on "two consecutive days" - decathlon was held over three days because heavy storm!
