The men's decathlon at the 1994 European Championships in Helsinki was contested under exceptionally difficult weather conditions, with persistent rain affecting performances throughout much of the competition. Despite the challenging conditions, France's Alain Blondel claimed the European title with 8453 points, ahead of Sweden's Henrik Dagård (8362) and Ukraine's Lev Lobodin (8201). The Helsinki 1994 decathlon is remembered for its rain-soaked conditions and for showcasing future champions such as Tomáš Dvořák and Erki Nool early in their international careers.
