Universiade Roma 1975 (0)

Oct 29, 2026
Austria's Josef Zeilbauer won the men's decathlon at the 1975 Summer Universiade in Rome, Italy, scoring 7854 points at the Stadio Olimpico on 18–19 September. France's Philippe Bobin finished second with 7567 points, while West Germany's Winfried Hartweck claimed bronze with 7382 points. The 1975 Universiade was an unusual edition of the World University Games. Originally scheduled for Belgrade, the event was relocated to Rome at short notice, with athletics becoming the only sport on the programme. Despite the reduced format, the competition brought together university athletes from around the world in preparation for the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games.
