CR - championship record
By 1985 - points recalculated according to the 1985 scoring tables.
Didn’t finish:
Krzysztof Chmielewski (POL), Wolfgang Kühne (GDR).
Historical note: Georg Werthner’s fascination with the decathlon began with a Christmas present. In 1964, the eight-year-old received a book about newly crowned Olympic champion Willi Holdorf. Eleven years later, he stood on the European junior podium in Athens with a silver medal of his own.
