Didn’t finish:
Jeremy Lelievre (FRA), Hendrik Lepik (EST), Rafał Krzeszewski (POL), Manuel Bachmann (SUI), Einar Dadi Larusson (ISL).
Historical note: One of Novi Sad’s most remarkable performances came from the athlete who finished 16th. On 24 July 2009, France’s Benjamin Fenrich completed the decathlon with a stunning 4:09.09 in the 1500 metres — a mark later listed by the IAAF as the world junior decathlon best for the event. Fenrich admitted afterwards that he had started too quickly, eased back and then tried to find another gear for the finish. His run lifted him to a personal-best total of 7009 points.
