U20NR - national U20 record

Didn’t finish:
Daniel Awde (GBR), Jonas Fringeli (SUI).

Historical note: Rico Freimuth’s bronze on 20 July 2007 continued a remarkable family tradition. His mother, Anke Tröger, had won the European junior heptathlon title in Utrecht in 1981 — 26 years earlier, also in the Netherlands. His father Uwe began athletics alongside his twin brother Jörg while still at primary school; both entered a specialist sports school in Brandenburg in 1974. Their paths later diverged: Uwe became an East German decathlon record holder, while Jörg won Olympic high jump bronze in Moscow in 1980.
