after day 1 Eaton with 4500 points - around the score of his best decathlon. great 400 metres in 46.28

the weather was horrible on day 1 for the 400 not to bad and for shot as well but rain during the 100 and long jump somewhat!

he is on his way as of now to breaking his world record running events as well right now.

last year

10.35, 46.85, 13.85, 4.21

i think if he has someone to run against in the 400 he could potentially run even fatser as well!

rather average discus (41.71) and pole vault (4.70).. but still on a way to a good pb overall I hope

Haven't done the tally but I think he got his running event WR - but missed the CR.

Watched the meet online, and he did great except his PV. A 5.00 would have given him a chance to really run the 1500 for a BIG score

the thing that is unreal to me is he had 10 decathlons over 8000 points!

he is only 22 years old!

if he had jumped 5 meters which is not a stretch he would have scored 90 more points!

i think the thing that also makes him so good is that for a speed guy he stays healthy which is huge in decathlon!

3.815 points for running events (10.37 46.28 13.68 4.21.85).

Best ever in the world

amazing the results for the running events.

I think a lot of countries would be glad to have specialist runners who can run those times..

I'd be really glad if he could do some meetings in Europe last year (like Götzis / Talence) - maybe he could even improve his total score more when having some "real" opponents..
