Dave Johnson is a former American decathlete best known for winning the bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics and for his role in the famous “Dan vs. Dave” campaign. The “Dan vs. Dave” campaign was a major advertising promotion by Reebok ahead of the 1992 Summer Olympics, featuring Dave Johnson and Dan O'Brien as rivals competing to become “the world’s greatest athlete” in the decathlon, though it became famous when O’Brien failed to qualify for the Olympics, leaving Johnson as the only one to compete.
