Let me say how honored that I am to be included in the same artlicle as Roman Sebrle. In 1996 we competed together at a small meet in California called the DecaJam. I believe this was one of Roman's first 8000 scores and he was able to win some prize money that allowed him to work with a new coach. You could see back then that he was special and may have a great future in the decathlon. I have had the pleasure of watching him compete many times and he has a great desire to win and an even temperment which is much needed in the decathlon. I hope he competes until he is 39.
