bad conditions on the first day - so the scores are ok I think. And it's a pretty close race so far - but I think Sebrle is going to win. What was wrong with Karpov? I read he was recovering from an injury.. By the way: some missing guys (Krauchanka, Pogorelov, Barras..) on the teams for the European Cup of Combined Events this weekend. Especially the first League Teams look quite good. |

bad conditions on 2nd day too, weak DT and PV for Sebrle, so Smith won: Smith 8157 (10.88 - 725 - 14.67 - 197 - 48.35 - 14.09 - 51.45 - 470 - 53.14 - 4:46.43) Sebrle 8058 (11.15 - 7.66 - 14.76 - 206 - 50.72 - 14.43 - 43.54 - 460 - 63.56 - 4:52.90) Karpov 8029 (11.07 - 697 - 16.02 - 200 - 50.64 - 14.63 - 50.79 - 490 - 55.89 - 4:53.23). Fourth place went to New Zealander Brent Newdick who improved his PB to 7849 points Karpov's 490 in PV and 55.89 in JT are not bad, even in bad conditions. |

Hm! Karpov reaches 5.30 in in PV Götzis last year But ok, if the weather is bad... |

Karpov actually cleared 5m30 in Götzis last year, but 2008 was by far his best year in PV (indoors 5m15 and 5m20) his other results in 2007/2008 have been between 4m90 and 5m05! So I think after recovering from an injury AND in bad conditions 4m90 is good. Or relatively: 30cm more than Sebrle is "between normal and good" |
