Aki Heikkinen won the men’s decathlon at the 1999 European Athletics U20 Championships in Riga, claiming the European junior title with 7881 points ahead of fellow Finn Jaakko Ojaniemi, while Roland Schwarzl took bronze for Austria.

Jente Hauttekeete won the men’s decathlon at the 2021 European Athletics U20 Championships in Tallinn with 8150 points, ahead of Sander Aae Skotheim (8012) and Teo Bastien (7722).
