Former world championship decathlon silver medallist Dean Macey will return to action for England at next year's Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
Macey, who has struggled with injuries throughout his career, has not competed since he came fourth at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
But the 27-year-old insists he is in good shape and is confident he can claim gold if he stays injury-free. "I'm in fantastic shape and awesome form. I'm doing times now that I haven't done for a couple of years," he said. "If I stay injury free I feel confident I will bring home a gold. The plan is for me to go no more than 80% in training and to save that extra 20% for competition."
