Fair Decathlon Model. Part 3: Forty Seasons, Cleaner Data, and Wider Calibration

Gunther,
A. Eaton
* 100 m – 10,23 = 1038,7
* Weitsprung – 7,88 = 985,0
* Kugel – 14,52 = 747,4
* Hochsprung – 2,01 = 817,9
* 400 m – 45,00 = 1084,0
* 110 m Hürden – 13,69 = 1017,5
* Diskus – 43,34 = 739,9
* Stabhoch – 5,20 = 937,0
* Speer – 63,63 = 810,4
* 1500 m – 4:17,52 = 846,1
NBL-Gesamt laut deiner Tabelle: 9024,0 Punkte.
Für Mayer:
K. Mayer
* 100 m – 10,55 = 934,9
* Weitsprung – 7,80 = 967,8
* Kugel – 16,00 = 830,2
* Hochsprung – 2,05 = 848,9
* 400 m – 48,42 = 882,5
* 110 m Hürden – 13,75 = 1004,8
* Diskus – 50,54 = 859,1
* Stabhoch – 5,45 = 1011,2
* Speer – 71,90 = 913,9
* 1500 m – 4:36,11 = 755,2
NBL-Gesamt laut deiner Tabelle: 9008,4 Punkte.

Gunther, I waited nine days for this answer, but the numbers you have now provided are simply inconsistent with your earlier statement.
Mayer actually ran 4:36.11 in Talence. If, according to your NBL method, a time of 5:17.6 would already have been sufficient for him to exceed Eaton’s 9024.0 points, then Mayer’s actual 4:36.11 must necessarily put him above 9024.0 points, assuming that a faster 1500 m still receives more points than a slower one.
That directly contradicts your statement from August 3 that, under NBL, Eaton would rank ahead of Mayer and would therefore be the world record holder.
So either 5:17.6 is wrong, or your earlier statement about Eaton and Mayer is wrong. Both cannot be mathematically true at the same time.
And this is exactly why refusing to publish the calculation formula is a serious problem. When the method produces results that contradict each other, nobody can independently check where the error lies.
---
Mayer lief in Talence tatsächlich 4:36,11.

Thank you for the explanation. However, I still cannot find either the exact NBL formula or the 1500 m time Mayer would have needed to reach 9024 points. Could you please provide the time directly?
