So, the first event of heptathlon is already over, with Ashton Eaton on top. A couple of minutes ago, Mr. Eaton has begun the long jump with the result of 8.16m. Yes, 8.16, not 7.16. With all that said, what do you think who's going to win? IP: 90.191.2... |

After 2 events (Istanbul12 vs Tallinn11) : +51 points, en route to 6600+ (but don't forget the subsonic second day at Tallinn11 with 2990 points !!). And for the gold, no surprise, 'cause Eaton has already (after 2) +151 vs Kasyanov and +297 vs Lukyanenko !! IP: 89.227.2... |

Looks like the 8.16 tops the list for best ever in competition. I heard the speakers at the start were bad. So the reaction times throughout the day have been terrible. IP: 70.91.7... |

Question: are decathletes DQ'd for one false start? Eaton seemed to be sitting in the blocks for 60M. Nice to see him pop the big LJ on first try. In the past it seems he would foul the first jump, then have to do a safety second jump. He looked great on that LJ. IP: 12.164.1... |

Eaton now just needs to remain below 2:40 min for the WR. Since his pb is at 2:32,67 min, I guess we can expect a new world record. IP: 31.18.9... |
