After three events:

Mikhan 2584
Knobel 2530
Dudas 2529

Knobel (and almost all decathletes) made a new PB in 100m (Wind only + 0,3) with 11.07

Here you can find the results:

Yes Nathali :

12 PB 100m
5 PB LJ
6 PB SP

for 22 started, that's a pretty good 'opening eyes' for this decathlon !!

http://livemanager.eurovision.edgesuite.net/eaa/si...

First day is over

Mikhan 4250
Dudas 4249

v.d.Plaetsen 4209
Kazmirek 4207
Knobel 4114

Meanwhile I browsed thru the results section. According to the EAA statistics:

100m: 11PB, 1PB=, 2SB
LJ: 4PB, 1PB=, 1SB
SP: 6PB
HJ: 3SB
400m: 7PB, 1PB=, 2SB

Good conditions, eh?

It's a very good 1st for a competition with only young athletes.

For example...
Mikhan 10.77PB-7.54PB-13.98PB-1.95-48.02PB
v.d.Plaetsen 11.29SB-7.68PB-13.31PB-2.07-48.64PB
Knobel 11.07PB-7.23SB-15.43-1.92-49.17SB
Skurenyev 11.09PB-7.27SB-12.88PB-2.01SB-49.84PB
Stefek 10.96PB=-6.97-12.88PB-1.95-49.44PB=
Lelievre 10.95PB-6.97-14.33PB-1.80-49.07PB

I think there are 6, maybe 7 8000pointers possible if Distelberger has a good 2nd day (ca. 14.30-41.00-4.90-56.00-4:30).

The best result in depth ever...

Yes Christoph, but I have some doubts concerning the EAA stats.

For example Mikhan LJ PB 7.61i (not 7.54) - SP PB 14.41i (not 13.98)
Leliévre SP PB 14.77i not 14.33
Knobel SP PB 15.70i not 15.43

and so on...

I don't know if EAA stat considers the indoor marks as PB, or only the marks made during outdoors meetings.

So, the morning session on Eurosport is over and Knobel will not be the European Champion... he falled in the hurdles...what a pity!

I'm very impressed about the 19-years-old (!) Adam Helcelet. Except the discus he has good last three events according to the statistic here on the website at czech records... Can he hold his first place after 6 events, what do you think? Will he become in future a further great czech decathlete?

Knobel is still competing (49.09 DT).

Helcelet, after a 14.30 110H PB, has some 'medium'
PB for the last 4 events : 39.99 DT - 470 PV - 59.36 JT - 4.39.75 1500M. With this marks, he could made 8.050 points.... but Mikhan seems to have better PB (45.04 - 465 - 54.40 - 4.23.77).

I think, at this stage, Van der Plaetsen is the likely winner, no, perhaps with a score over 8100. His big pole vault potential (510+) and solid javelin (60m) should be enough to distance himself from the others, with Dudas a likely second, Mihan third.

van der Plaetsen wins the meet with 5 points on Mikhan : something like 0.80 on 1500 m after 10 events

Congratulations to the winner, and also to his second Mikhan (8.157 PB and 8.152 PB) and also to Knobel who was, probably, the best man on the field............without the 110H.

A clip from the hurdles with Knobel:

Yes, the EAA stats are not up-to-date.
I have even 15.74 in SP for Knobel

Very close in the end indeed
