Kip Janvrin (born july 8th 1965, 44yo) performed a 6657 points at the San Angelo (TX) spring break decathlon last week end : 11.76 6.19 13.43 1.74 51.80 15.85 36.06 4.26 52.16 4.47.63 Is somebody knows a decathlete at 44 with a >6600 points ? (Simon Poelman from NZL had performed a 6735 at 40 in 2005...................but Janvrin highlighted at 7670 art the same age, and also in 2005). |

Daniel, Kip Janvrin is indeed absolutely a living legend. Not only because he’s also world record holder for the double decathlon but also because he has six absolute age-world-records in decathlon and two in heptathlon. The only athlete (with senior implements) I know of, who still has an absolute age-world-record is (as far as I know) Rex Harvey. Here’s my list: 35y 11m 14d 8241p Kip Janvrin USA 2001 37y 11m 14d 7918p “ 2003 38y 11m 12d 7730p “ 2004 39y 09m 20d 7671p “ 2005 40y 01m 16d 7520p “ 2005 44y 08m 20d 6657p “ 2010 44y 09m 18d 5401p Rex Harvey USA 1991 The age WR’s in heptathlon over 35y are as far as I know: 35y 03m 15d 6024 Roman Sebrle CZE 2010 35y 07m 23d 5839p Kip Janvrin 2001 36y 07m 22d 5477p “ 2002 |
