US Decathletes

I was wondering what everyone else was thinking about what Bryan Clay said about getting together with Trey Hardee and Ashton Eaton to train. he did say that it would take some funding. Do most countries have there best decathletes train together? I think Germany does some camps together!

I was wondering why they had not done this sooner.

as far as I know in Germany they have regular training camps (like in South Africa or other places) with all the top decathletes, while normally they practice at their respective clubs.

But I think it absolutely makes sense for the decathletes to train together at least sometimes; everybody could benefit quite a lot from it. Also I suppose for the coaches it might be good to exchange ideas to get new ideas.

Didn't Roman Sebrle and Bryan Clay do some training sessions together in the US / Europe a couple of years ago? I remember I was quite impressed by the fact that there is even international cooperation between (at that time) some of the best decathletes in the world.

Cuba has their decathletes train together.
