Just before I can see the first results, I've got this news that Clay is questionable for the Nationals (and WC) http://www.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/2009-06-24... Let's wait ... |

Clay is not competing at the Trials today - did not start in the 100m race. Good race for Hardee in 10.43 though.. But really bad luck for Clay - that means no World Championships for him then... |

Really bad for Clay I like him really strong But now the gold medal is open! I am really sorry for him but now we can not say who will be the world champ in decathlon But i think he is still capable to make a new world record |

that was my second thought too: now we're going to have a really tough decathlon competition in Berlin. So many athletes who can score around 8500 points.. who do you think will compete for the US team in Berlin? Trey Hardee of course (doing a good job so far in Eugene, let's just hope nothing goes wrong there) - but apart from him? |

Hardee 8450-8500 Eaton 8150-8220 Arnold 8020-8100 I don't believe that Randolph or Terek will achieve 8000 points (A-standard) Don't have much information on Detmer and Burt, Abdur-Rahim we can unfortunately delete from the list ... |

you may call me badly informed - but are they going to nominate Arnold now that he didn't get the A-standard at the Trials. But he has already the score from Götzis anyway with more than 8000 points.. |
