Tom Pappas won the 2002 US Championships decathlon in Berkeley with 8398 points, beating rising American star Bryan Clay by 168 points as Pappas strengthened his position among the leading U.S. decathletes.
The discipline and training applied by decathletes have always been regarded by me as the ultimate in athletic dedication.
