The 2017 Decastar meeting in Talence brought together a deep international decathlon field, with Canada’s Damian Warner taking victory with 8252 points.

Arthur Abele of Germany won the 2018 Ratingen decathlon with 8481 points, finishing well clear of fellow German Manuel Eitel (8121) and Sweden's Marcus Nilsson, who was just one point behind second place.
