Glenn Lindqvist claimed the men’s decathlon title at the 1995 European U20 Championships in Nyíregyháza with 7363 points, ahead of Rick Wassenaar and Jiří Ryba in the championship standings.
Christer Holger dominated the men’s decathlon at the 1993 European U20 Championships in San Sebastián, winning the gold medal with 7534 points ahead of Jan Podebradsky (7396) and Stefan-Hubert Vogt (7338).
Vitali Kolpakov won the men’s decathlon at the 1991 European Athletics Junior Championships in Thessaloniki with 7813 points, ahead of Tomaš Dvořák (7748) and Jarkko Finni (7479).
Michael Kohnle won the men’s decathlon at the 1989 European Athletics Junior Championships in Varaždin with a championship-record 8114 points, finishing ahead of Norbert Lampe (7586) and David Bigham (7446).
Patrick Eseimokumoh won the men’s decathlon at the 1987 European Athletics Junior Championships in Birmingham with 7614 points, finishing ahead of Roman Frolov and Barry Walsh.
Thomas Fahner won the men’s decathlon at the 1985 European Athletics Junior Championships in Cottbus with 7815 points, finishing ahead of Igor Drobyshevskiy (7633) and Andre Preysing (7476).
Valter Külvet won the decathlon at the 1983 European U20 Championships in Schwechat with a championship-record 7915 points (7880 by the 1985 scoring table).
The gold medal was won by Mike Ramos, who amassed a total of 8071 points. Valter Külvet secured the silver medal with 7971 points, while Michael Neugebauer earned the bronze with 7895 points.
