At the 2024 World U20 Championships in Lima, Tomas Järvinen won the men’s decathlon with a championship-record 8425 points, ahead of Hubert Trościanka and Florian Vriezen.

Trościanka's performance included a world U20 decathlon best of 46,21 seconds in the 400 meters and a championship best of 68.87 meters in the javelin throw.
