Damian Warner wins with 8523 points and my prognosis for the top three was a good one. Brianne Theisen-Eaton won the heptathlon, so this was a second edition of the Canadian Games!
The weekend got off to a brilliant start with Damian Warner breaking the world record in the 100m decathlon in 10.12 seconds. Damian Warner won the decathlon for the fifth time in Götzis with 8711 points.

Andrei Krauchanka came to the Hypomeeting as number ten but left the Mösle as the winner. With 8617 points, he secured 1st place for the first time ahead of the favorites Roman Šebrle and Bryan Clay.
In the worst weather conditions with rain and wintry cold - almost like the first meeting in 1975 - the 39th Hypomeeting took place and ended with a Canadian victory - Damian Warner won with 8307 points
