Hey Guys, Jamie here I've always admired decathletes and what they do. Since I have started athletics in 2006 I have only ever ran sprints, mainly 400's. Next season I would love to compete in the decathlon, but the thing is; in Ireland (where I live) there is not many decathlon coaches, so I have nowhere to access a coach or even a training program for the event! Could anyone here point me in the direction of where to go get a program? Or ill be cheeky and ask does anyone want to coach me Here's a little background on my performances 100m PB 11.07 200m PB 22.49 400m PB 49.55 I hope to hear back from you guys Jamie IP: 109.255.2... |

If you have a well designed program, the physical training (Speed Progression, Plyos, Strength Training, General Endurance, Tempo, etc) would not differ significantly from sprint training - you just have the added technical work. But the physical training is at the core. Good places to look at well-designed training (for multi-events) and sprint/strength training in general: http://www.elitetrack.com and http://www.charliefrancis.com IP: 24.148.... |
