U23 European Champs in Espoo: Markus Rooth took the decathlon gold (0)

Sander Aae Skotheim came to the U23 European Championships as the Norwegian record holder and main favorite in the decathlon.

Instead, it was Markus Rooth who took the European Championship gold. His 8608 points is also a new Norwegian record. Skotheim had to settle for silver. He finished with 8561 points, which is 39 points behind his personal best.
