New National Records at the International Athletics Pentathlon Jõgeva 2026 (0)
Vilem Strasky (Czech Republic) won the competition with 4019 points, setting a new Czech national pentathlon record. The previous record had been held by three-time decathlon world champion Tomaš Dvorak.
Zsombor Gálpál (Hungary) also made history by scoring 3507 points, establishing a new Hungarian national pentathlon record. Remarkably, the previous Hungarian record had stood for 102 years, having been set at the 1924 Paris Olympic Games.
Home favourite Risto Lillemets (Estonia) finished second with 3762 points. His performance now ranks as the sixth-best pentathlon result in Estonian all-time history.
The reigning European decathlon champion Johannes Erm took the opportunity to test his form in two individual events. He threw 56.70m in the javelin and 45.24m in the discus.
The competition highlighted the exceptional level of international athletics in Jõgeva, with two national records and one of Estonia's finest all-time performances achieved in a single meeting.
