german decathletes so far are doing a good job - in contrast to the starter, he send them into the decathlon with 5,4 m/s tail wind.
I would hope for top meetings like Ratingen to have top officials
Freimuth 10,36
Hechler 10,54
Diestelberger 10,58
Kazmirek 10,61
Müller 10,69
Behrenbruch 10,73
Knobel 10,85

Knobel should have informed himself about the actual wind rules.
Afer a pb in attempt one 7,36m +1,0 he passed on attempts 2 and 3 ...
Another regular jump at just what Behrenbruch accomplished (6,94 -0,6)
and Knobels chances on a regular decathlon result would have been way better.
aside from a new PB, a regular Ratingen result could have already been the A standard for European Championships 2014 ...

Behrenbruch in summary with the only legal wind conditions!
So he will make it, because all the others had illegal wind conditions.

Yes, but Freimuth and Knbel have A standard from 2012
(Müller and Kazmirek B standard from 2012)

What a german team this year : 9 men (!!) in the top 20 world list and 7 over 8200 (some of them with irregular marks), and all between 21 to 28 yo.

Very impressive !!

Great performances in Ratingen.
Even though the german qualifying system had been created unclear and complicated the officials had luck with the outcome:
with Behrenbruch, Freimuth and Schrader the best athletes are qualified.

Not very clever from Kazmarek and Knopel to pass on additional jumps in the long jump. Another attempt like the one of Behrenbruch (6,94 -0,5) and both would have put up new PBs in the decathlon.

Müller in difference did so, jumped 7,12 with -3,2 and now should be in the IAAF world rankings with regular 8081 pts, alongside his wind assisted 8179.
- at least he should, once the IAAF has realised this ...

Distelberger pulled out after the hurdles with too much wind for him (could not get a legal B standard) even though he had another LJ (only 7.02 though).

He might try third time...
