Also a pending American Junior Record by Lazas in 10th place (7802). But the competition was supposed to take place Wednesday and Thursday. After a late start Thursday morning because of thunderstorms, and then more thunderstorms that halted the JT after most competitors had taken only one throw, the NCAA halted competition Thursday night at 10:30pm, making the decision to resume it Friday morning. Thus the 10 events were not completed according to IAAF rules on "two consecutive days".

This should have helped the 1500 times, so it's not clear how we should handle Beach's mark. I don't think the AJR can be ratified.

If the the results would find the way into the official lists, Beach's 3:59.13 were the best 1500m in decathlon >8000 points

well at that point it was more about safety and not stupid records

Although those guys had nothing to do with the meet being postponed, it seems like those 1500 times shouldn't be considered on an all-time list until it's actually done under the proper rules.

Getting to wait till the next day to run the 1500 is almost the same as running an open 1500 fresh (semi-fresh)?

Those guys may just end up running as fast or faster in a normal meet, but I don't think they should get credit for it, until it's actually done. Those are technically open 1500 times!

I agree that the times should not be counted since the meet took three days. Both Beach and Klech will get another chance for record 1500 times on June 24 at the US Nationals.

Beach's running events sum to 3712 (10.78 46.90 14.76 3:59.13) placing him 3rd on the all time list for running events - with the asterisk for the 2nd night f sleep.
