European Championships Split 1990

The men's decathlon at the 1990 European Championships in Split brought together Europe's leading all-around athletes in a highly competitive battle for medals. France’s Christian Plaziat won the European title with 8574 points, ahead of Hungary’s Dezső Szabó and East Germany’s Christian Schenk. The competition also featured future Olympic champion Robert Změlík and highlighted the depth of European decathlon during a period of major change in international athletics.
